"Do You Know What Today Is?"

Today is my sixth wedding anniversary.

And though the occasion is not strictly related to my publishing dreams, there is a novel-in-progress about the love I found with this yummerific man o' mine. So this post is at least marginally appropriate.

Besides which, myHubby himself is most definitely blog-worthy. If I had my druthers, I would dedicate an entire blog to him and my ardent attempts not to smother him with my love and attention.

But he would denounce and veto such an endeavor, so I shall settle for posting this original poem...

For now ;-)

Happy anniversary, Babe.

On the Sixth

Words fail me when I look at you
Your earthy lines and familiar spaces
I weep and laugh, holler and faint
Wanting to sample, craving a taste

Words fail me when I look at you
Your eyes ablaze with silken fire
They lick at my soul, making me whole
Expelling the dark with audacious light

Words fail me when I look at you
The one who staked his claim
Who offered the world in the form of a question
And forever changed more than my name

Words fail me when I look at you
The music and breath of my days
Six years is a whisper in the lifetime I crave
To make love and sweet memories always

Words fail me when I look at you, Horace
But on this day, I shall try again:
You are more than a man, my hero in flesh
My reason, my yes and Amen
